The Sea Ranch Optimum Performance Home uses biophilic design to integrate sustainable green building practices with “aging-friendly” considerations able to create a home that maximizes independence and safety for all stages of life, from infants to grandparents.
Design, construction, and operation of the home have thoughtfully considered energy and water efficiency, greywater recycling and water harvesting, resource efficient building materials, indoor environmental quality, material durability and homeowner maintenance, native indigenous vegetation, light and sound pollution, zoned radiant heating, construction waste recycling, and the home’s overall footprint on the environment are all taken into account during each decision.
Accomplished:

Collaborate on a LEED-Homes pilot project.

Design on-site water conservation strategies featuring low-flow fixtures, rain water harvesting, native and fire-resistant landscaping, gray water, and lifestyle conservation commitments.
3.
Include biophilic design to create a thoughtful and functional home for the whole human lifecycle, newborn to elder.
